VC's Welcome Address

Dear Esteemed Academic and Non-Academic Staff, and Respected Students,

As we traverse the halls of academia, it is with great pleasure and humility that I extend my warmest greetings to each member of our university community. I am Professor Sani Usman Kunya, privileged to serve as your Acting Vice Chancellor. In our journey towards academic excellence and institutional growth, I am reminded of the profound importance of unity and collaboration among us all.

Our university stands as a bastion of knowledge, innovation, and progress, and it is the collective efforts of every member that propels us forward. Today, I wish to underscore two pillars that uphold our shared vision: academic excellence and unity among our esteemed unions.

Firstly, academic excellence is not merely a goal but a commitment we owe to ourselves and to future generations. It is through rigorous research, impactful teaching, and a dedication to learning that we uphold the standards of excellence that define our institution. Each of you, whether in the lecture hall, the laboratory, or the library, plays an indispensable role in shaping the minds of tomorrow’s leaders. Let us continue to strive for excellence in all our endeavors, pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.

Secondly, unity among our unions is paramount to the prosperity and harmony of our university community. We are blessed to have dedicated members from ASUU, SSANU, NASU, and NAAT, each contributing their unique talents and perspectives. However, true strength lies in our ability to work hand in hand, transcending any differences for the collective good. Let us foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation, recognizing that our shared goals far outweigh any individual interests.

As we navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, let us remember that we are bound together by a common purpose: the pursuit of truth, knowledge, and service to society. Together, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness beyond measure.
