Agro-metrological Center

The Agro metrological at ATBU was established in 2004 because of the increasing concern over the impact of global climate change with particular reference to the impact on agricultural production in the semi-arid region of Nigeria. The Centre has the mandate for research and development as well as community service. The Center has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Metrological Agency (NIMET) in 2004. The collaboration between NIMET and ATBU seeks to support the promotion and extension of scientific research and technological development in fields of mutual interest to both parties particularly in the following areas

  1. Metrology and Animal Production
  2. Metrology and crop production
  3. Metrology and its impact on livelihood systems
  4. Renewable energy
  5. Geographic Information System
  6. Dissemination of agro metrological information to rural farming communities
  7. Capacity building in ICT
