Brief

BACKGROUND
The Department of Human Physiology is one of the departments in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences that provides the foundational knowledge about the function of the human body, establishing the bedrock for studies in health sciences. The course in human physiology is designed to give introduction to the physiological principles governing normal function of the human body.

Aims & Objectives

PHILOSOPHY/FOCUS
To train and produce graduates in the health sciences with sound knowledge of physiology of the body systems, have adequate orientation towards application of basic physiology in life, in clinical practice and in industry. The department focuses on Introducing students to adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of basic physiological functions, and mechanisms in various systems in humans utilizing the use of the basic knowledge to explain common pathological disturbances especially failure of certain functions. Also, to build knowledge of basic and clinical research.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
The department presently teaches Physiology to MBBS, Nursing and Public health students. As such the admission requirements into these programs are as provided by their faculties
