The Faculty of Technology Education was carved out of the existing Faculty of Science and was established as an independent School in 2004. It currently has three (3)departments and has proposed two (2) more that are awaiting the approval of NUC to increase the number to five as follows:
1. Department of Educational Foundations (DEF)
2. Department of Science Education (DSE)
3. Department of Vocational and Technology Education (DVTE)
The two proposed departments are:
Furthermore, the faculty offers B.Tech. degree in professional Science, Vocational and Technology Education courses in its Long Vocation Training (LVT) programme alongside with the regular undergraduate programme.
Besides, there are (4) Colleges of Education {Federal College of Education (Technical),Gombe, College of Education, Ankpa, Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi and Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum} that are affiliated with the University
through the Faculty. The affiliated Colleges offer Bachelor Degree (B.Tech) in relevant and Diverse Professional Science, Vocational and Technology Education courses. The general Admission requirement into undergraduate degree programme in the
Faculty is five (5) credits in English Language, Mathematics and three (3) other credits in Subjects relevant to Candidate’s field of study
